1. a research Group with a high level of knowledge and skills in the field of Ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis and Intercellular Communication

Início: Bem-vindo
Welcome to the Group of Ubiquitin-dependent Proteolysis and Intercellular Communication (GUIC) site, a virtual extension of GUICland. We are a group of people, with diverse backgrounds, highly committed to the bright side of science and desperately aiming at contributing to unveil the mechanisms whereby cells exchange information and the quality control processes to ensure an healthy membranome, essential to ensure cell homeostasis and organismal survival. In concrete, we want to unveil how the disruption in cardiac cells crosstalk and defects in protein quality control mechanisms contribute to cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. To attain these challenging goals, we rely on a multidisciplinary team that includes clinicians and scientists from basic areas.
GUICland offers a cosy and friendly environment and a stimulating and vibrating atmosphere for those who want to be creative and innovative. Besides science, we are obsessed with social activities, addictive to young students training and fascinated with public awareness of science.
